Amazing gRace Day 6

Today was our last full day and final day of service.  The teams were split up into different shifts and sent to the Humane Society.  Team Holy Crosses got the first shift from 7-9am.  They cleaned out the puppy cages and got to take some puppies outside.  Team Neon Yellow Flying Monkeys took the dogs for walks along the Greenway (a nature preserve).  Team Genesis got to give the dogs some baths.  The youth all had so much fun and were so excited to work with animals.  Naomi was so moved by the experience that she called home to get permission to adopt a kitten which was approved.  Turns out that the Volunteer Coordinator, Erica, was the pastor's wife at Central Lutheran where we are currently staying.  Two teams then headed to Essentia a little bistro that is owned by the other pastor's wife at Central Lutheran.

Here are some pictures from the Humane Society today.

Tonight we all headed to a Yakima Bears Baseball game to have fun and relax as a group.  We have had a long week filled with lots of service work and it was a great way to celebrate the end of the trip together.  The Yakima Bears pulled out a 10-7 win over the Everett Aquasox.

The youth had one last challenge for the day at the baseball game.  They were to find someone at the game who shared something in common with their entire team and take a picture.  This turned out to be a little harder than the other picture challenges, but the kids had fun.

Tomorrow we head home and back to the final Pit Stop.  This has been one amazing trip full of Amazing Grace.  We will never forget all the fun times we have and the people that we have met.  We all were living out the Gospel this week through our varying forms of service.  I hope the youth not only had fun but grew in faith along the way.
